I focus my energy on the city I love.
Though there is deep unease for the future of Hong Kong, my practice is a form of protest through soft-power activism. I am critical of Chinese Mainland neo-imperialism acting under the guise of British post-colonialism, the suppression of the city’s political autonomy, and the failure to maintain representative democracy.
I invite the viewer with details and intimate handling. I control the viewer with scale and precision. Utilizing a reductive scale is a deliberate opposition to the language of dominating architectural structures and academic ideals that have come to represent power.
